Audi and Twentieth Century Fox, in cooperation with Blue Sky Studios, are teaming up on a digital content piece ahead of the world premiere of the animated film “Spies in Disguise” starring Will Smith and Tom Holland. A new era is dawning. Audi is taking sustained action for greater economy, flexibility and secure jobs. The Board of Management and employee representatives have reached a fundamental agreement within the framework of Audi.Zukunft. The decisions relate in particular to the optimization of production capacities at the two German plants and socially responsible workforce adjustments while extending job guarantee up to the end of 2029. The 6 billion euros thus generated will secure the strategic targeted return corridor of 9 to 11 percent and will flow into future projects such as electrification and digitalization. In this way, Audi.Zukunft will sustainably strengthen the competitiveness of the Four Rings and will make the company fit for the coming years. The agreement takes effect on November 29, 2019 and applies for the next ten years.
Audi will be the mobility partner of the Werksviertel quarter in Munich and develop innovative concepts for the brand. On the site where the dumpling factories of the Pfanni brand once stood, a modern city quarter is arising. All of its “settlers” – as the residents and companies based there call themselves – share the wish for a sustainable lifestyle. Audi’s commitment is also made in this spirit: the “Audi on demand” mobility service is starting up with electrified models. And the pop-up store that opened yesterday at the heart of the Werksviertel will be a showcase for e-mobility in the company. On top of this, Audi experts for design, e-commerce and mobility services will move into the new building named WERK 12.
The animated spy comedy adventure “Spies in Disguise” is hitting the big screen just in time for Christmas, and Audi is in on the act. The movie features another superstar alongside super spy Lance Sterling (voiced by Will Smith): the Audi RSQ e-tron, the first concept car from the Four Rings to be created exclusively for an animated film. The model was designed in close cooperation with Blue Sky Studios and boasts a holographic speedometer, an electric drive, a fully automated driving mode and visionary design language. The highlight of this unusual product placement: Contrary to tradition, Audi is not using the movie to advertise the launch of the model; instead, the sporty two-seater serves as a demonstration of how intelligent and sustainable premium mobility could look in the future.
